Steps
Pour filtered water into the bottom chamber of the Moka pot up to the safety valve. Avoid overfilling.
Fill the filter basket with the ground coffee, leveling it off without packing it down.
Place the filter basket into the bottom chamber and screw the top chamber on tightly.
Place the assembled Moka pot on the stovetop over medium heat. Using gentle heat helps prevent the coffee from becoming bitter.
As the water heats, it will create steam and pressure, pushing the water through the coffee grounds and into the top chamber. You'll hear a gurgling sound when the coffee starts to brew.
